Are you ready?!

Before you begin a new job, your employer will ask you for a medical fitness certificate. If you are found to have a communicable disease (such as Tuberculosis) or a non-communicable disease that can affect your work performance (such as diabetes), you may not be allowed to resume duty until you have been treated appropriately.

In my upcoming book, I mention all the essential medical tests you need to do before you embark on the journey of motherhood…

A similar principle applies to pregnancy and childbirth. You should have a medical check before trying to conceive. If you have a treatable medical condition, you should get treated before you get pregnant. If you have any life-threatening medical condition that is not amenable to treatment, then you should consider using an effective, long-term contraceptive, because at the end of the day, your life matters first!
