LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

I remember the “makkah camera” my late grandmother brought when she performed hajj many years ago. Children go ecstatic when they see the beautiful images of the grand mosque, the Kaaba, the mosque of the Prophet (saw) in Madinah, etc. The Masjid Al-Haram is always aired live on TV, and no one gets tired of watching. But no matter how many times you have seen pictures and videos, it’s nothing like seeing the real thing.

My first visit in 2015 was awesome. I can’t begin to describe the awesomeness of beholding the Kaaba with my own eyes, standing just a few meters away. It felt like a magnet, pulling my metallic heart towards it. The pull gave me a slight dizziness. I missed a beat; and when the beats came back, they rushed in flutters. People were pushing and struggling to get to the antique cube; to touch it, grasp its cover (kiswah), kiss the black stone on it’s eastern corner and supplicate to the Lord of the Throne as they do the tawaf.

For me, it was a lifelong dream come true. I was content with the privilege of stepping into the house of Allaah. I was overwhelmed with joy. I fell in love the moment I sighted the black stone. It was love at first sight. I’m looking forward to our first kiss, someday…in shaa Allaah!

I pray for more opportunities to visit this house. I pray for you, my brothers and sisters, to visit too. I pray for umrah mabroor. I pray for hajj mabroor. I pray for peace in our world. May the Almighty answer our prayers and grant us success in both worlds. Aameen.

I used to be so insecure before . polygamy broke me but when I mended I was stronger than before. I got this quote from a wonderful sister and Walahi it is so true. The insecurities itself is killing than the actual deeds. May Allah rectify all our affairs and Grant us patience to deal with life struggles.
JazakilaAllahu khair Sis for this wonderful piece. May Allah make it heavy on your scale of good deeds (aameen)
