The Syrian Child.

What have they done to deserve this?
The Syrian children.
Children who should be playing
with dolls and balls.
Children who should be eating
samosas and lots of halaawa.
They don’t need the European dream.
Ask Noora,
she just wants to go back home
and look for her teddy bear
in the rubbles of her father’s mansion.
The same rubbles,
in which the bodies of her parents and brothers were exhumed.
No, she doesn’t care
about the sight of blasted bodies anymore.
That is the new cool.
That is the new cartoon.
She’s brave.
She’s happy, but damaged
She’s ready to look forwards
stepping into the brighter future
with her prosthetic legs.
And not into the ballistic past.
What can I do for the Syrian kids?
What can I write about them?
Worse, when last did I pray for them?

I pray Allaah touch the hearts of these worldly powers that be to let Syria and her people go! May Allaah restore peace to Ash-Shaam. Aamin
